Basic Shibari Course

In 2017 we are introducing the possibility to take our classes as part of a course. The ‘Basic Shibari Course’ is comprised of 3 classes and you get a bundle discount for booking onto the track rather than taking the classes individually. You can complete the course by booking the classes individually or as a bundle.

The Takate Kote
The Third Rope
Fly! Intro to Suspension

Who can come to this course? This course is open to all levels and complete beginners. No rope needed. No experience needed. You will need to pre-arrange a partner or partners for the classes in order to take part. You will be expected to practice in between classes in order to make sure you meet the pre-requisites for the following classes. Please note that there are pre-requisites for riggers as well as rope bottoms/models for the more advanced classes so you are responsible for meeting them/bringing partners who meet them.

What should I bring and what do I wear? We have ropes you can use during the class and we have a communal kitchenette, fridge and microwave. Tea and coffee are free but you should bring your food and snacks (we have plates and cutlery you can use). People usually wear comfortable clothing like yoga or dance attire. We advise against loose fitting clothing and also jeans can sometimes feel a bit restrictive to move around in and difficult to tie on.

When does it take place? The course will take 1-2  months from the first class to the last class. Some classes are full day classes, some are evening classes and others are full weekend classes so you’ll have to check dates for these individually.

What is the course like? We know it can be intimidating to step into a rope bondage class so the classes we host have been created to make you feel welcome, accepted and comfortable. Anatomie Studio is an inclusive female-friendly, kink-friendly, LGBTQ+ friendly space welcome of people of all colours, genders, orientations and background. Our events are friendly, welcoming and educational. For more information about our philosophy and values, see here, and for resources about getting tied, tying and rope in general, see here.

Who teaches this class? The class is taught by studio owners Fred Hatt and Anna Bones. They have been doing rope together since 2013 and are regularly invited to teach and perform inside and outside the UK.  For more information, visit their personal website here.

How much does this cost? £240 per couple/pair (you save £40)
