We are so thrilled to welcome back these two wonderful souls on the world of shibari/kinbaku, Wykd Dave and Clover.
Who can come to this class? Are there pre-requisites?
This class has pre-requisites for riggers and rope bottoms/models – please make sure you meet these before booking to avoid disappointment on the day:
- Completion of Course 3 gives both riggers and models the necessary pre-requisites for this course.
- Riggers must be able to tie a structural 3 rope Takate Kote in under 10 minutes and be comfortable with suspensions & basic transitions.
- Pairs must tie with 6mm jute ropes, preferably single ply.
- Riggers and models must know how to check for nerve impingement.
- Riggers and models must have tied together prior to this class.
- Rope bottoms should be able to be tied in a Takate Kote and be very familiar with the differences between nerve and circulation impingement. Models must be able to recognise and communicate signs of nerve impingement to riggers effectively and timely. Models should be able to process pain and take some enjoyment in intense sensations.
What should I bring and what do I wear? We have a communal kitchenette, fridge and microwave, so feel free to bring lunch/snacks. Tea and coffee are free. People usually wear comfortable clothing like yoga or dance attire. We advise against loose fitting clothing and also jeans can sometimes feel a bit restrictive to move around in and difficult to tie on. We have communal ropes if you don’t have your own.
When does it take place? This is workshop takes place Saturday and Sunday(1-7pm).
Who teaches this class? This workshop is taught by guest presenters Wykd Dave and Clover.
WykD Dave has in the past few years been teaching and performing throughout the world with his partner Clover.
His work has appeared in Films, music videos, international fashion magazines and even in Paris’s Louvre gallery. Tying models from local kinksters and friends with no modelling experience to internationally known stars like FKA Twigs and Lady Gaga. His teaching has revolutionized rope bondage for many students around the world as he shares his own take on what’s important to learn and understand about rope.
His views are the result of years of experience, analysis and thought after tying, teaching and performing all over the world. He teaches together with his partner Clover providing her perspective as a rope bottom and believes that education for models/bottoms is just as important as for riggers.
Time and experience are constantly changing and evolving his bondage and his classes making them a different experience every time. It is his proud boast to have created some of the most copied rope bondage classes in the world.
He has also accomplished the rare and almost unique feat of having created ties and techniques that are now used and taught in Japan.
How much does this cost? £200 per couple for the weekend intensive or £250 for the weekend plus the Monday class on aesthetics.
Where do I book tickets? Ticket link here. Pre-bookings now open.
The purpose of our two day workshops is to give an intensive session of learning where the aim is to give the greatest benefit to every attendee. The workshop will contain information for both tops and bottoms including working together with communication and understanding between partners.
The content of the workshop will be modified depending on the level and needs of the attendees. This adaptive approach allows us to tailor the class to the requirements of the group and to concentrate learning where it will do the most good.
The workshop will not be purely technical but also cover the intention, aesthetics and beauty of bondage and suffering.
Over the two days we will look not only at what to tie but how with general principles that will apply to everything you do in bondage.
The intensive will include ground, semi-suspension & suspension work depending on the capabilities and progress of attendees.
The workshop will include work on rope handling, control & tension.
As part of this weekend I will also be teaching my method TK together with principles for use and suspension attachment. We will look at some ties without using the Gote to include some diverse application and respite for bottoms, these include (but not limited to) Strappado and Jai Shibari variations.
