Our Team

Our team is wonderfully diverse - spanning different ages, genders, and backgrounds - and each member brings their own unique expertise and teaching style. They volunteer their time to help us with the day-to-day tasks, as well as less visible work such as policy making and protocols. You'll see many of them at the door, teaching classes, and offering private lessons. Interested in working with someone specific? Email us or reach out to team members directly.

    Jenni Noon

Jenni Noon began exploring shibari as a model in 2020. Connection is at the heart of her practice — her experience in rope shaped above all by relationships with people she cares about deeply.

    Pen

    Volunteer & Teacher

Pen (he/him) is a bottom-leaning rope switch from the UK who loves exploring the emotions and vulnerability of shibari.

Initially, he approached Shibari as ‘just another form of bondage’, but soon realised it is something much more profound than this. Pen ties with many people with different styles, but he always falls back towards his love for power exchange and surrender. - “The worst way to torture Pen is to tie him in a way that is easy to escape..”

He has taught and performed at events across the UK, Europe, the US, and Southeast Asia. Passionate about rope bottoming education and safety, he uses his extensive training in human anatomy and physiology to empower both bottoms and riggers to explore rope play more safely and freely.

    Rose

    Volunteer & Teacher

north_rose (she/her) is a writer and editor by trade. who found shibari in 2018 and her happy place on the volunteer team in 2022. She loves being a friendly face for new arrivals at the studio - particularly fellow quiet or anxious folks in need of a little extra moral support. Her instinctive preference is to bottom in rope, but she’s also expanded into tying: first herself, and more recently others.

Chronic illness has intensified her curiosity about why things feel the way they do, sparking a strong interest in rope’s effect on our bodies and brains, and how we (bottoms as well as tops!) can mediate that effect.

As a teacher, she’s committed to helping those being tied access the best information, and is adamant that bottoming involves its own set of concrete, teachable skills.

    Luca

    Volunteer & Teacher

Luca (he/him) fell in love with Shibari and Anatomie in 2022, and this love never ended.

He is a top-leaning switch who feels a sense of awe exploring the complexity and variety that ropes might offer, looking at them as a form of art and a unique language to express mutual joy, a never-ending search and discovery.

Just touching ropes makes him incredibly happy.

He has recently started to teach beginners on Thursday classes, enjoying it a lot, and he tries to keep the “beginner” mentality, where every wrap gives you a new sense of wonder.

When he is not touching ropes, he read history books, swims and visit tiny, cute villages.
